Anyone out there ever install a hitch on a newer CSC trike kit for a Wing? I'm told I can order it direct ( they are closed until next Monday) and installation is easy. Does it require two people? How long would it usually take?

Here's some pix of it. It's a plate that bolts right up.

I think the hitch bar come separate. Use 6 grade 8 bolts for it !

Thanks for your photos but I can see this isn't going to work for me. I want a 1 1/4 receiver so I can attach a quick release cooler rack. It doesn't seem like this will work for that. Installation does look like a breeze, but with that bend I don't think I will be able to attach that rack.

Thanks much team5150 for taking the time to send the pics

I have the flag mount setup and am considering getting one of these as well. I'll give ThumbUpThumbUp to Rivco on not only their products but also on their customer service!!!!

I have a rack that mounts to the CSC kit with no problems.

Rivco Motorcycle Trailer Hitch Rack.

RIVCO Products, Inc.*::*Hitches, Racks & Trailering Products*::*Large Quick Detach Rack (18"x30") This is the Large size.

RIVCO Products, Inc.*::*Hitches, Racks & Trailering Products*::*Quick Detach Cooler Rack (11"x16") This is the smaller size that I have.

I've looked at one for $65.00 that fits into the receiver, IF I am able to do that with the CSC hitch

Thank you all for your help with this. Your photos Team 5150 were very helpful. I'm going ahead and ordered the CSC trailer hitch and buying the Rivco 11X16 cooler rack. The more I thought about it, it made no sense to try to weld a receiver tube on the bar that comes with the hitch.

I read several reviews on the Rivco and most folks really sang it's praises. My only concern was whether is rattled but if attached properly that shouldn'tbe a problem. Thanks again.

this is the rack that I have www.usatrailerstore.com it is a little larger than the rivco and mounts about the same and it doesn't rattle.
the one thing that I don't like about the csc hitch is that the flat bar can be springy with a large load on it. but I did notice that cars would not tailgate me with the 48 quart cooler on it.

this picture is the 48 qt cooler with a 12 pack of sodas, 12 pack of water, and 2 bags of ice and plenty of cold cuts and sandwich fixins. I didn't weigh it, but it was plenty heavy and didn't have any effect on riding that I could tell. before I haul that big of a load on it again, I will try to weld a gusset on the flat bar to try and get rid of the "bounce".

this picture is with a 28 quart cooler with a dozen drinks and one bag of ice and the "bounce" was significately reduced.

I think the fact that the bar on the receiver is wider would probably give it more strength and stability. That cooler on riverrat's trike is HUGE. I'll bet it IS springy with a lot of weight on it.

Heck, I just want to be able to carry some cold drinks and maybe some snacks.. I'll bet riverrat could pack for a week! Lol

I started out with the CSC hitch. Found it to be very heavy and could not mount a cooler on it. It was used for towing a Kwik Kamp trailer to camping rally's. Wanted to have a cooler on the hitch for day trips.

I sold the CSC hitch back to the installer. Then built a hitch with a receiver that would handle both needs. No flex and no rattle.

Trike is 2007 CSC Cobra

LOL...yep a weeks worth, but the CSC hitch does need to have the flat bar beefed up some. it is just too springy for my liking, even with a lighter load. wider does not mean much, it needs to be thicker or braced up somehow. maybe a gusset along the underside to give it some backbone.
if I wasn't already invested in this hitch, I would just build one to accept a square tube reciever. and may yet, if I get tired of messing with the flat bar.

I agree. Now that I have it installed I'm sure I will be able to live with it. I'm only going to use a 11X16 cooler on mine and maybe store some things on top of it. I rode a little when I installed the cooler with it empty and it did not appear to rattle, so that is a good thing. It sure beats nothing. Thanks for the feedback

I welded a 2x2 receiver to a flat bar and inserted it into the CSC receiver. The I cut down and welded a rack I got at Harbor Freight so that it didn't extend past the rear lights.

We have taken it on a 2500 mile trip and back and forth to Yellowstone with out any problems. A lot of stuff was packed into it and no bouncing.

I have the CSC (Viper) Trike kit on my 2012 Honda Goldwing with the hitch kit installed. I want a hitch rack and am looking at the lighted Rivco Trailer Cooler Rack 18 x 30. One comment made on their web site is this product is not designed to handle the excessive vibration and impacts from "un-sprung trailer hitches" and the product may be damaged when used on those applications. I will probable order it anyway, but any of you had an problems mounting the hitch rack and/or vibration.

CSC advises 50 pounds or less tongue weight. For a trailer (the intended design), 50 pounds is plenty. For a huge cooler slam full of crap, probably pushing your luck.

Anyone that has jumped up and down on the hitch (me) knows it will hold 300 pounds without breaking... but that isn't the intended use.

I'm just wondering how you turn with 300 pounds hanging off your hitch.
