Every forum I belong to I remind folks of the Trail of Tears motorcycle ride.

It is a great adventure. 3 days of riding. Leave Chattanooga to Florence, AL.
3rd Saturday of September. 2nd day leave Florence to Hot Springs AR., 3rd day Hot Springs to What ever tribe that we are visiting that year.

Lots of festivities. on Saturday at the end of the ride. All proceeds go to the tribe that is visited that year for college funds.

There is a second ride that only goes to Waterloo.

just a reminder

Cheri, we'll have to go to Cherokee and you and John and I will go thru their museum, and stay for the play "Unto These Hills" next year during the Rally!!

You are referring to Smokey's, right.
There is also a museum in Talequah, OK. Which is where the TOT will be visiting this year. We will have a good pig roast.

If you have never rode this ride you are really missing a wonderful spiritual experience.
I went the first time to satisfy my cousin. I was overwhelmed with what this ride is about. Since then, many years has passed, I never miss this ride. After we finish the ride we take 5-7 days to do other things, ride mainly. We usually end up with around 3,000 miles behind us when we get home.
Even if you do not join the ride or go to OK. There is a lot of festivities on the 3rd Saturday of September in Florence or Waterloo. Lots and lots of venders are there as well as powwow.
