I'm a retired railroader who loves VW trikes. I sold my 1966 1300 VW trike with the type 3 automatic transmission and got a 1972 1600 trike with a standard transmission. I miss the type 3 automatic and wanted to know if anyone can tell me if I can put a type 3 in my 1972 VW trike and what will I need to do it.

welcome aboard. I would guess that anything can be adapted if you are changing transmissions. Just time and money.
