tire rotation?

Being a "fairly" new guy to triking I was wondering if a trikes rear tires should be rotated (switched) like an auto's. Thanks.

Never heard any one doing it BUT Even autos don't rotate side to side only front to rear. so where are you rotating to. Since Radial tires are directional you would need to remove them from the rim and flip them then place them on the opposite side of the bike . This will cost you $20.00 a tire. and this may save your 5,000 miles. Almost like Obama spending trillions crushing clunkers to save Millions on gas. <LOL>

Not needed the rear tires will wear a long time. Very little weight on them in comparison to what they were designed to carry.

Like John said: Watch out with that: the profile of some tires is made to drain the water away from the middle,
if you just switch the complete wheels the water will be forced to the center and you have a lot less grip when it rains !!!

Years ago, some manufacturers of radial passenger car and light truck tires did recommend against X rotation. I don't know of any that still do. Some tires are directional but not all by far. Many are assymetrical (one side of the tread is meant for the inside and the other for the outside.

As someone pointed out above, it is probably overkill to swap the tires on trikes from side to side, in my opinion.
