yes Dennis & Randy I do know Ben. he was only 99 when I met him. he is as sharp as a tack, a very nice guy. he went to a assented living home, but they did not have a covered parking place for his gl1500 trike so he moved as soon as he could. Like I said he does not look like he is that old and sure does not act like it. I don't have his phone # but I am sure I can get in touch with him. I normally see him at Marcus"s cycle shop on 69 south in Lufkin. I have not seen him sense he has be come a TV star and we will have rain for the next few day so I am sure he will not be riding his goldwing . if you'll want to come for lunch one day let me know with a little lead time and I would try to get him lined up. I will only charge a small fee for introductions. no I am sure it would make his day to visit with other trike riders. in fact he has said he would like to take a ride with Marcus and I some time. ( I would only do a short one, after all he is 101 years old) PS I had a thought ( I know , I know hard to be leave ) may be we could meet some where out of Lufking and visit a few min. and let Ben lead us to a BBQ place in Lufkin what do you'll think ??? - - - Updated - - -

Jr, I called him but didn't get an answer and no voice mail, maybe he is screening his calls since he was put on TV. It would be great to meet Ben and do a short ride. See if you can set that up and we will do it.

You guys ought to meet in Snook, Texas (Sodolak's) for some chicken fried bacon and some highway talk. I'd love to be there. Having ridden some 65 years I'm just a pup to this gentlemen.

Don't know if Mr Mock could/would make that ride, probably 150 miles one way.

He is a inspiration to all of us. I can't imagine all the things he has seen on the road and all the changes in bikes in all the years he has ridden. Sounds like he should be a honorary member of the group. Where ever you guys meet up, let him know he is a true inspiration for all riders to keep riding and to stay active.

We have set it up for Sat, MAY 28th at Lufkin BBQ, Jr has reserved the banquet room there for us. We will be officially inducting Mr Mock into the TRIKE Talk - T.O.I. ride club and present him with his membership ID card, patches, decals, T-shirt and flag and some other special goodies customized in his honor. If you plan on joining us, please post so in this thread so we can have a head count for the restaraunt.
