The wife took a ride on a trike.........NOW

Pugsbrew here. Newby that has been drawn in to the trike mania, by the wife of all people. I have been out of bikes for a while, but this looks like it could work. So many options, so much information. Enjoying the info this forum offers. Will be looking forward to you all answering my stupid questions, when I figure out what to ask.

Anyway, live in SE OH, and just starting the search. Been looking at GW with a Hannigan conversion kit. Any advice would be appreciated.

Ride safe and standby for incoming questions.

Welcome to Trike Talk. Personally, I like my Tri-Glide and the full warranty coverage. Be aware if you convert a new bike, the mfg tends to throw any warranty out the door. Of, course, if you get a used bike, then go for it. The independent suspension is nice on mine.

Hey Pugs! Love to see another Ohioan is on board :) Your area has beautiful riding.
Hannigan has great kits and Gold Wings are great bikes. Put 'em together and you are set to go. Your questions aren't dumb, so ask away. Sounds like this is an existing trike???? Ask if it has a rake kit on the front end. If not, you will probably want to add one to give you that "power steering". BTW, we live just outside of Dayton.

Welcome Pugsbrew glad you joined us.Sounds like you are headed in the rite direction.Lots of info here so just ask away.

We bought a GW 1800 California Sidecar trike right off the floor at a Honda dealer, and haven't looked back!! 20,000+ miles later, we agree that it was a great choice! Ride as many as you can (we're sold on the CSC conversion), ask your wife (can't emphasize this enough) her choice, and enjoy every minute!!

Small world!!! Hello my fellow Little Hocking neighbor. There is a lot of great people on here with good advice and anwsers. I have learned so much already for the small amount of time I have been here. I have to agree with Blondie Gal...let your wife help make the choice :)

We triked our new Yamaha RSV, and Yamaha dealer had no problems. They just don't cover the trike kit part. Dealer performs the motorcycle servicing and has no problem taking our money. Our Hannigan conversion also has independent suspension.

If you own a Tri-Glide I don't believe your suspension is independent. I know my 2009 TG is straight axle.

Pugs, welcome aboard the best board on the internet. I've got a '04 GL1800 with an '07 Hannigan kit and my personal feeling is it don't get any better. But as has been said so many times on this board, shop around and try all of them that you can then pick the one that fits you best. Again, welcome aboard and happy hunting for a trike.
