The end to tour pack damage

Mine has a rack on it lucky no damage. I would not trust the retractable ones. I just wanted something that would not be in the way. Don't know if the orginal one breaks or not I have mine with all the spare parts.

I didn't search for the thread but that info is in the supplement manual.

Twist the cable 1/2 turn so it swings into the hinge when you close the trunk lid.

That Dennis can cook can't he... Love that CW.

Yes, it is the 99601-12 supplement. Page 2-18, right column, #8

I was hunting torque values when I saw it.

Something else I do is put a bungee on the cables. Just wrap it around between the cables, 1 1/2 times, and it acts like a shock absorber & won't let the door down hard when it opens. Also if you happen to have problems with the latch coming unlatched it will keep things from falling out. It holds the door in the vertical position.
I wish they had a light warning when the trunk door was unlatched. Shouldn't take too much to do.......:Trike1:

About 3 weeks ago, noticed a big crack around the rear (front) chrome hinge on my tour box....In a previous thread I mentioned the large crack in my tour lid which I replaced for $432. I'm still convinced it was because of the HD retractable teather that broke....fell on deaf ears at my dealer. So, tour box removed and all wiring, etc. taken off and took to paint shop in Boise. They are going to reinforce the corner and paint for $300.

Have the brace on and love it. Put new front tire on and new front brakes Saturday. Getting ready to leave and got in the tour pack and the owner saw the hinge. He really liked it and called his parts manager over to look at it. They deceided to order some and put on their personal bikes. They were also talking about getting some for the new bikes on the floor as I was leaving. Very good dealership.
