The 'Check Engine' Light Means So Much More These Days...

FYI: Apparently H-D has linked items other than engine or emissions issues to the 'Check Engine' light. A failed rear brake switch triggered mine to come On. Certainly surprised me.

Yeah, when error codes are thrown, engine or otherwise, it will light up the check engine light.

There are a ton of electronics on these bikes....I think in '14 they went to a BCM (Body Control Module) in addition to the ECM (Engine Control Module). The BCM is a unit that has many items (like the turn signal module) built into it.
