The 'Check Engine' Light Means So Much More These Days...

FYI: Apparently H-D has linked items other than engine or emissions issues to the 'Check Engine' light. A failed rear brake switch triggered mine to come On. Certainly surprised me. :confused:

Yeah, when error codes are thrown, engine or otherwise, it will light up the check engine light.

There are a ton of electronics on these bikes....I think in '14 they went to a BCM (Body Control Module) in addition to the ECM (Engine Control Module). The BCM is a unit that has many items (like the turn signal module) built into it.
