Wife and I are trying to recover from a visit to Thailand. Visited there myself for R&R back during 'The War'. Stayed in Bangkok and Phuket. Bangkok has changed tremendously and now has around seven million people. Out of that seven million there has to be four million riding the small Chinese scooters with reckless wild abandon in and around automobile traffic. It amazed me that there weren't four or five wrecks each and every block.
At stops, the cars tend to leave space between and the scooter riders weave in and out and along the shoulders (if there is one) making their way to the head of the line where space has also been left open for the scooters to gather up. Once the light changes it's off to the races again. Get the chance, visit a site showing 'Bangkok traffic' which will give some sense of what I'm talking about - then imagine being immersed in the scene. Amazing.
