Texas folks on the gulf, beware....

As you've most likely already heard, Hurricane Harvey is getting ready to blast your coastline.

Stay safe, & hopefully it doesn't hit you too hard...(Worried)

You beat me to it and that's okay, I was just going to post about the hurricane headed towards the Gulf coast of Texas. Remember the drill from Florida. Bring in all items that can blow away and become a hazard, have your vehicle filled with fuel, if you're in a low lying area head for higher ground, have a generator, canned food, battery storm radio, battery lights, bottled water, manual can opener, gas or coal grill and most of all be safe. Prayers for all who are in the storm's path.

Watching the weather channel this evening, it's not looking good for all the coastal areas, they're saying Harvey could turn into a Cat 3 before it hits Texas. You all be careful down there and batten the hatches.

Hey, we're ready for it. Already had plenty of groceries, yesterday got the vehicles fueled, gas cans filled for the generator. Today, serviced the generator, ran it with a load for about 1/2 hour to insure the inverter worked correctly, then filled it with fuel.

Even got a new set of mud boots.

Almost 11:30 here and we're just now seeing the very tip of the outer band rotation on the radar. It's almost on us...getting windy and the temperature has dropped to 77* :cxtv: now we wait and see

Will do, we're going to get some crazy amounts of rain, flash flooding is my biggest concern. We have several low water crossings here. We are prepared, and ready for it.

From what I remember about Texas is Deluge when it rains, I saw birds knocked out of trees from such hard rains in summer in Amarillo
