I want to add the tank lift to my 2016 Triglide, when I read the information on DK's

product page, it says that a 2 inch kit will " sometimes" fit ?

whats the clearance issue? Should I take the safe route and get the 1.5 inch ? are there any significant benefits with the extra 1/2 inch , also is the deluxe option a contributor

in why it fits or not , thanks for any advice

I have a 2017 Freewheeler & I went with the 1.5" deluxe tank lift. I would also suggest the air wing deflectors. The combination of the 2 helped my FW & improved the looks, showing off more of the engine.

The work fantastic together.

I don't have a tank lift but I would say the clearance issue would be the handlebars, I do believe in the directions it says to move handlebars to the right and to the left for for clearance on tank. Most I have seen on here have the 1.5 lift with the rear option also, some have to move the tank back so it clears the tank which is no big deal, you just want to make sure you have clearance for the tank when you move bars to the right and to the left.

Like I said I don't have a tank lift but I'm sure somebody will chime in that has it and maybe Kevin will chime in also.

All for now Trampas

That's what I'll do then

Thank you for looking at our products!

The reason we say sometimes is that HD is Not consistent in where they bolt their fairings up. Sometimes they do it in such a manner that the fairing wing vents will touch the tank with a 2" tank lift. (never with a 1.5" on a TG or a 1" on a 2 wheeler)

So, as Securtis12 mentioned, if you want a 2", then test it out first and see if you have the clearance.

Instructions on how to do that are in this LINK down toward the bottom of the description.

Thank you, I like what I read about the benefits of a tank lift as well as the wind deflectors

both for comfort and cooling my engine

Just wanted to toss in a thanks to DK. There are a lot of companies out there making stuff for trikes, but DK is just outstanding in their support... not only for their (outrageously good) products, but just to the trike world in general. I've been riding for over 40 years now, from a little jap 125, through bigger imports, a Sporty, Electraglide, now on a trike, and I've never run across a vendor that provides such great service and support. Props!:clapping:

+1 I couldn't say it any better. Definitely top drawer in customer service and support!

I went to a 2" Lift deluxe ie. 1/2" on back also I was changing Handle Bars then also to 2+2 wide sweepers from Khrome Werks really affordable and switched them also myself. Could not be happier with the results these were changed in an effort to lower motor temperatures. And these changes have worked wonderfully for us. travel safe Fred

Didn't mention the air deflectors made a huge difference air coming up from the lower farings

Oh by the way I found proof pictures Bugs.. on the lowers none on the fuel tank or my jacket. since installing the air deflectors most all of the air is on the motor.

thanks, I went with the 2inch lift, no issues with the install, I also have the same 2+2 handlebars, great improvement from stock, got the air deflectors w the tanklift option, all good so far, less air but still some buffering at high speed, may have to invest in a wider and taller windshield , freedom shields has a touring version that may do the trick, thanks
