Tail pipe

Hey group, I noticed while standing at the back of my 2010 trike the left tail pipe vibrates more than the right. It also now makes a noise after you ride it a while. When I lift the trike up what should I look for? Thanks so much for your input.

2 bolts holding the muffler on in the top of the muffler at the rear. Those will be a little hard to get to, but you can do it. Also, the clamp at the front of the muffler. Just in front of and below the left fender.

I believe the rubber isolators worn

I have one on old Shiney a little looser than the other if I get a rattle I will replace both. But not till then.. or I Have a reason to remove Mufflers. Easy peasey to remove bolts from rear mount using a flex head ratcheting box end 1/2" if memory serves correctly. ;) Good luck travel safely Fred

No need to lift the trike. When you look under and up at the rear of the mufflers there are two mount bolts (each muffler) that bolt through a chrome slider bracket. That slider goes through a rubber isolator as Fearless said. I would suspect they are worn or have slipped out. That would make for quite a rattle.

Frequently we see the rubber isolator has slipped out of the housing (or was never put back in correctly when slip-ons were installed). Usually all it takes is pushing it back in snugly and it will stay.

That said, the left slip-on on a brand new trike will be a little looser than the right...just the design of the exhaust system.
