Suzuki C90 Trike

I bought my wife a 2007 Suzuki C90 trike. She loves it and can ride very well and has ridden it on one 7,000 mile trip. We broke down this year because of an improperly tightened pinion nut. The rear end had to be removed to be repaired. The trike was converted by Lymans. has anyone else had that problem ? The rear end was a 4 cylinder Mustang or Pinto.

Welcome, Not every day a pinion nut comes lose

Looks like some one forgot the torque wrench that day

The pinion bearing needs to be pre loaded with a torque value

Was the rear end serviced IE bearing or seal?

That could explain it

The nut is a self locker and requires some hefty torque, I have seen them back off but that was mechanic error

Welcome aboard dean Not a common problem so get er fixed and have your wife RIDE ON Ride safe

Dean,

Welcome to Trike to Talk.

Yours is not a common problem and usually it is caused by an inattentive owner that doesn't notice that spot of oil beneath his (her) trike. You purchased the trike used so it is hard to say what kind of service was performed prior to your ownership. Hopefully your repair was properly done and you will have no future problems.

We hope to hear nothing but happy stories from now on !!:D
