Super Shox

Hey, Randy welcome to Trike-Talk.....:wave4:

Can you explain what a Super Shox is I'm not familiar with that? ....

Ok i just Google it ; The company says they will be available this month...

So i don't think too many will have them on their Tri-Glides yet..

But Again Welcome......To Trike-Talk....ThumbUp

I am trying to find a Harley Tri Glide owner who has installed Super Shox on their trike. I want their opinion on ride quality and value. Thank you.

I had Super Shox installed on my 2012 Harley Tri Glide and after 1600 plus miles I cannot feel a difference. I have set the shox high and low, tire pressure high and normal with no discernable difference. I bought these after talking to people who have them and because of their rave reviews I had them installed on my trike. Maybe I set my expectations too high but they really do not perform as advertised. Too bad I sold my stock set because now I am $650 poorer and stuck with these. Hopefully my experience is a rare one but I do not recommend Super Shox for a 2012 Tri Glide. Thank you.

I had a set put on my 2014TG. A week later I totaled my bike so can't really give too much of a report. They seemed to mellow out the harsh bumps.

Sorry to hear about your crash. I hope you are ok. Thanks for the info. The Super Shox On my 2012 TG don't really make a noticeable difference.

Welcome Randy,

My dealer told me about the Super Shocks but I went with the DK 14# comfort lift/shock combo and for me it is one of the best comfort mods I have done. I like the way Kevin does his research and reporting his results. With all his trike miles and experience, I have come to trust his judgement.

Thanks for the welcome Jeff. Super Shox are made right where I live in Grayslake,Il and Brian the owner/inventer of Super Shox couldn't be nicer or more helpful but the bottom line is that the Shox don't perform for me the way I have heard others report on them. Maybe I am being too picky but my back doesn't lie to me. Sure, some of the smaller bumps are not felt as much but I was expecting a Cadillac ride. I guess my TG is haunted or something. Oh well, lesson learned. I should have left the stock ones on instead of reaching for something that was not obtainable. A $650 lesson.

Just a thought, are you running the stock Dunlops? If so, what air pressure are you running? I run about 23# and others here run as low as 20#. Dealer will put 26# or so, but that will be a rough ride.

Brian at Super Shox adjusted the air pressure in my stock Dunlops to 26 psi. It made a little difference but not much.

Regardless of what shocks you are running, the OEM rear tires perform better at 20-22 psi than at the factory recommended 26 psi. They are car tires on a much lighter trike.

Interesting video, showing how shocks should work on a Harley Trike-
