Sturgis Rally 2012

Anyone going to Sturgis SD this year? Marcia and I are RV camping at Shade Valley Campground about 10 miles east of Sturgis this year. Our reservations are from July 29 thu August 12. If you're in the area stop by.

We wanted to go but waited to late to make reservations so I don't know wether we can find a place for the rv. George

Shade Valley Campgrounds are saying they still have RV sites with full hook up available, the one I reserved is 50' wide and 100' deep with electric, water and sewer, check them out on their web site.

We stay south of Hill City at Crooked Creek. Nice and cool at night, and QUITE!

I had to jump in here.

Went to the Sturgis Rally last year. Nothing has changed, tatoos, teets, and lots of noise. Haven't been to the rally for over 30 years and I live 18 miles down the road. Hope you all enjoy it.

yep spent 4 days in the sturgis area 2 weeks ago. still lots of bikes but alot nicer then during the rally. but if you are going for the rally events then you will have great time. sturgis is the king of rally's.

Sturgis is getting pretty Corporate.. soon it will be like SEMA.. Just my observation :Shrug:

We are going this year, but we probably wont spend more than a couple of hours in Sturgis it self. And that will be in the morning when its not quite as crowded.

SEMA stands for Specialty Equipment manufactures Association...

It's the 2nd or 3rd largest show in Vegas every year. It's the PIMP MY Ride car accessory show in vegas... Once upon a time it was pretty RISKY.. now the girls wear turtle necks... I'm just saying... it's sad! :Shrug: When big Corps figure out they can make money at an event.
