I'm planning on going back again this year, been making the rally on and off since 1986. We stayed at Shade Valley Campground last year, it's about 4 mile east of The Full Throttle Saloon and 10 miles east of downtown Sturgis, nice campground. I'm planning on getting there before the official start of the rally, around July 30 and heading back home August 10. We are towing the Toyhauler again. Going to HAVE FUN AGAIN!!!!

I'll be on my Heritage.

I can't ride to Sturgis as my health isn't the best so I'm pulling a few bikes. If I take the trike then one bike can't be hauled. There are several of us going. Looking forward to getting away for 10 days.

Been there twice which is one too many. I don't like getting it up the azz for drinks/food/motel. That's why I don't do the H-D anniversarys every 5 years either. I'll spend my money on small get togethers where there's not a million riders all over the place and everything is within normal prices.
Thankfully there is enough of both for everyone to have a good time.

Even the charity rides are getting out of hand. It use to be 50/100 riders and the fee was $ 10 or $15 - now it's hundreds of riders and the fees are $50 or more. Great for the charity, bad for the wallet - especially if you're on a fixed income. Thankfully I can still do a few, but not a lot like I use to.

Sturgis can be done on a lower budget. We stay at Crooked Creek 2 miles south of Hill City. Hill City Cafe is just one of many places that do not raise prices during the rally. You head downtown Sturgis or to the Rally only places expect to pay stupid prices for food/drinks.

Anyway, to answer the OP's question, we will once again be there.

We usually go the week before the rally for a few days and then often make one ride during rally week. Of course for us it's just the next town west, about 200 miles.

I,ll be there.camped off of exit 46 last year north side of 90. donot remember the name of the campground, had a good time. be there Sunday afternoon too Thursday morning. white Harley, with Frankenstine rear, black fenders. have fun ride safe , see you there DENNIS

All right, a few of us are going, I really enjoy the Rally and the people, as far as being expensive it could be if you allow it, I make it my vacation and enjoy the sites and bikes.
