Stupid question about emergency brake

I just got a new motor for my reverse.....I was told to be sure that I never ride with emergency break on...I have never used it since I bought the trike in 2009...I have misplaced my user manual at the moment...should the lever be up or down while I am riding...don't want to cause further problems...thanks!

UP!!!.......
Some 86 the whole parking brake, Just remember to park in gear, The Trike will roll away on any slight incline... Oh and bye the way the brake is a parking brake not an emergency brake..

Thank you Rhino.....I will be sure the lever is always "UP" on my "Parking" break. Thanks for the quick response...I have always had the lever up but wanted to be sure....leaving to go and pick it up now and give them lots of money for new motor and labor. Ugh!!

Keep in mind that after (XXX) amount of miles the Parking brake will need to be adjusted again or it will not hold..That why many stopped using it and either leave it in gear or use a band or Velcro to hold the front brake handle to keep it from rolling away..I find leaving it in gear always worked..

Stopped using the parking break on my 2009 TG along time ago. I leave mine in gear, and if I have to park on a grade is use the front break.

I never left my 2012 TG in gear(or any bike for that matter). I'm always afraid of forgetting it's in gear and starting the bike. Old habits are hard to break. :AGGHH:

I do use a Velcro strip on the front brake lever like trikermutha said = works like a charm. ThumbUp

The hand brake always seemed to need adjustment. I do like the foot brake on the 2014. So far it seems to really work fine and doesn't need adjusting every week. :pepper:

Just a tip - there is no such thing as a stupid question about emergency brakes, but there can be many questions about Harley's STUPID Parking Brake on the Tri Glide!:D

Did you get your TG back on the road and make your ride? dealer-> :Trike1:<-Trikermary
