i have a 2014 triglide with vance and heins truduals. screaming eagle stage one air cleaner, and tune. also have night rider xie 10 upgrade.

bike ran better, much cooler, but started to become way too loud. so loud it was giving me headaches on long run. talked to Harley and told them i wated to put the O.E.M.slip ons back on. i have heard that they are different with the amount of back pressure. Harley told me no difference internally, but one muffler is left side specific due to indent to keep it from hiting rear differental.i have been running them now for a few weeks but the right muffler is turning black, while the left muffler is turning a gold color. anyone have a guess as to what this means.
should i remove the night riders? both mufflers appear to be the same internally when sticking a broom stick in inlet or out let they go in the same exact lenth.
suggestions? and one other thing, it seems to me it sounds like its farting. i think the sound is bouncing back up at the rider. thoughts please????

I would try to see if the black will come off, never seen a muffler turn black before, the copper color is caused by heat most likely.
It is possible there is a hole in the muffler somewhere. If it sounds like farting, LOL, I bet there is a hole in the muffler somewhere.
Headers changing color to?

Try sticking a 1/2 diameter Dow stick in the ''out'' let side of the stock mufflers . Unless they change the mufflers on the 14's  , I have an 11 and the left side muffler is definitely baffled more then the right, And if you used them with true duels you will have a as you say a farting sound..

The mufflers on our 2015 freewheeler are the same other that a lefft side and right side. When i went to fulsac muffler cores i could see the baffles and can are the same. Not sure about a 14 tri glide. Unless the made the change in 2015 they would be the same I would think.
