Starting to get used to three wheels

Well, turned a bit over 600 miles on the TG today and am starting to feel comfortable with the handling and ride. Still not to the point of everything being second nature like with a 2 wheeler, but feeling much better with riding it.

I have noticed a couple of things, though.......The front brake doesn't seem to provide a whole lot of braking power on the TG does it? Seems like the rears do all the work. BTW, the brakes are linked are they not? So in theory, one could not use the front and be OK......

She DOES put out some heat, too, even with the lower doors open. Oil has been running about 265 (90 degrees out), compared to my 2017 SGS where the oil ran around 230 tops (it had a fan assisted oil cooler. I will be taking her in for the 1000 service in the next week or so and will be having the DK custom Oil filter relocation and oil cooler installed and hoping that will cool her down a bit. Will also be having the fan below the seat to pull the hot air away from the rider and passenger installed....

All in all, I am liking this thing more everytime I get on it.

You are getting accustomed to the difference quickly. After a few thousand miles you'll probably be well acquainted with your Tri-Glide.

Yes, the front brakes are not as effective on a Trike as a 2 wheeler...not as much weight shift to the front tire.

BUT, the linked brakes only utilize 2 of the 6 front brake pistons. When you use the front brake lever you are getting all 6 pistons working, so you will get better stopping power with both the foot brake pedal and the hand brake lever.

Yes, the Twin-Cooled engines have even more of an oil heat challenge than the Air-Cooled only engines. Your oil cooler and filter relo will bring down those temps.

My 17 M8 does produce some heat but when the warranty runs out this Sept i am going to gut the head pipe along with a stage 1 air cleaner and a tune so this will help some.I have the cool master love jugs on it along with DK Customs remote oil filter relocation and this all helps.So keep putting miles on it and enjoying the trike.
