speed bumps

As the time is getting closer to me getting a trike, I am wondering how to negotiate the speed bumps. Do you hit them head on or at a slant? If there are two bumps together and you have a spot between them do you hit the front tire in the space and the back tires go over the bumps? Thanks for any help.

You asked,so here goes.
I use the "Angle to the Dangle" approach. That is if you got something dangling do the angle.
If your trike is very low, mine is 5 1/2" ground clearence, that would give you a "dangle" under the center of the trike and straight on may cause your "dangle" to drag.I approach at an angle,to protect my "dangle".
Whatever your bottom clearence is,"Speed Bumps" are to make you slow down so either approach at a slow speed would most likely protect your "dangle also.
Hope this helps.

I go across at an angle and/or put the front wheel between them if there is an open space (and traffic allows). You learn in a big hurry to "eyeball" them to see if you can go straight across. That awfull scraping noise will tell you if you guessed wrong!!:AGGHH:

I've only encountered a speed bump 2 or 3 times. I slow down and go straight over them. :Trike1:

Haven't seen any real high ones - maybe 2" to 3" hi. Higher then that, I call it a curb. :D

There's one here in Killeen that's a killer, and near Monument Valley, at a McDonald's, there are speed bumps so high that the belly pan scrapes badly. They must be 7 or 8" - don't know how little cars get in the parking lot!
