Solex throttle bracket

OK--I purchased my universal throttle cable from Biltwell and ordered a 12' long universal throttle cable from Venhill. Anyone have a pic of a bracket that shows how to attach a throttle cable to a Soles 30/31 carb? My current set up is a foot peddle and has all steel linkage. Now that I'm switching to a soft throttle cable how do I set this up or where is there a bracket I can purchase that attaches to the Solex or to the transmission and thru the tube that is missing in the big chrome cover on the engine? Thanks:(

Google "vw clubs Colorado" and hook up with a club near you. Someone will have half a dozen of these things squirreled away in their shop somewhere and will probably part with them very reasonably. Your local VW club is usually a good resource.

Yea--did this once. I've only seen one other VW trike in this state. None to be found. Any trikes i found here in the past dissapeared. Might have to try again.

Check out the show schedules....guaranteed trophy. You'll occasionally run into the purists that looks down on anything less than a pristine restoration but most of the people that I've known in the clubs I've dealt with are interested in "all things VW" and are generally very helpful local contacts. Show your trike and you'll hear many stories about the trikes people used to have.

Here's the bracket. You bend the mount hole down by 90 degrees and mount with the top motor mount bolt (opposite the starter). It will line up with the cable tube - and if you don't have one, I recommend you get one or use 1/4" copper tubing with a hose clamp on either side of the fan housing to hold it in place.

I'll send you one for $10 (about 1/2 price) brand new and still in the packaging plus actual postage. Note that it is made for a bare cable end (to use with the conventional VW attachment) or I think the small ball will fit - a large cylinder type end will not clearance. PM me your shipping info and I'll send one right out. I'll let you know total when I get it on the way and you can PayPal or send me a check. Recall that I posted earlier to let me know your needs as I have about everything here, including the bent tube you wanted under the throttle (available in either 60 or ninety degrees).

Good luck with your project, and remember that the mechanical work is most of the fun!

Probably a good chance one of the mechanics will have parts in their own stash to get ya fixed up cheap or free. Great company to deal with man.

Thanks Stinger--headed that way tomorrow.
