While we were runnin' around up in the Smokies Area with the SEMF Crew last weekend, we met/passed several Trikes all weekend, includin' two Groups...just wonderin' if any Members here were up there.....

no but was there Memorial Day and 4th of July. If you like the bar scene check out the biker bar called Smokys on right side of main drag at park entrance in Gatlinburg. Great country band and patio seating. Lot of riders in and out of there. Some motels within walking distance if you are afraid you might consume too much.

If you get off I-40 at Exit 406 to Sevierville and Pigeon Forge you will encounter bumper to bumper traffic (I did on a Memorial Day Weekend) and spend about two hours stopping at all the traffic lights before entering Gatlinburg, however (look at a map) if you take the "back way" through Maryville and Weir's Valley there is not a traffic problem. (Think there may be one or two traffic lights)and you will come into the main drag on the upper end of Pigeon Forge then turn right and its about four miles into Gatlinburg.
I stayed at the Gillette Motel on Airport Road (Traffic Light #8) and there are several motels on this particular road as well as the Convention Center. Hopes this helps someone avoid the traffic jams.

We try not to go there on weekends during vacation season! Traffic is terrible!
Soon after leaving Pidgeon Forge going South, there is a bypass that will take you around Gatlinburg to the South, where you can go back North into town w/much less traffic, again, except on the weekends!
If we happen to be staying more than a week, we usually plan on just walking around town on Sat. & Sun. and relax around the pool:yes:

Myself and a friend were up in that area testing a couple reverse trikes that are in the works, lot of bikes and trikes up that way, had a real great time riding them, awlsome to ride low to the ground, grinn
