hi I am trying to find out if all trike converisons have shaking or wobble.
I have rode 2 different triked and they wobble bad.

shaking or wobble.... only if setup incorrectly.... would question the installer or the kit if looking to buy..... FYI

I am not talking bad about you Bob but the first couple of times I rode a trike it was what I called "twitchy". It felt like it wanted to go all over the road. What I realized was I was overstearing it just a little and it was almost like a wobble. After about 50 miles never happened again.

I'd have to see a better definition of shaking and wobbling. Low speed or high speed? Felt in the whole bike or just the handlebars?

If low speed it can often be the tire tread. Trikes are sensitive to certain tread patterns and road imperfections.

Unless you're talking "gonna crash" type wobble I would suggest you spend a little more time on a trike. They tend to feel twitchy and a little squirrely until you realize they are just fine - just feel different than two wheeler.

Mine acted up when slowing to a stop but after a new 6 degree rake w/new head bearings it smoothed out. But the biggest change was after I got more experience on 3 wheels. Be patient and you'll adjust too. orag:

Just put a fork brace on my 93GW with MT kit and it really tightened up the front end and did away with almost all the head shake.

I agree, the steering will feel very squirrely until you get used to it. Seems like even a 1/16" move to the handle bars sent the trike in another direction. You will get used to it and soon.

I have had no issues with twitchy steering, tire noise or vibration on my 2009 Champion trike with independent rear suspension and a six degree rake. No magic balls for balance, no fork brace, nothing special. The only mods are a Race Tech front spring and Gold Valve mod after a couple of years to raise the front end one inch and stiffen the dampening to prevent bottoming out the engine case when going over speed bumps.

I don't think that Champion is unique, I think that most of these issues are caused by loose fork bearings, tire and balance issues and lousy kit installers. Tires? I use a Michelin Battleaxe BT45 on the front mounted in normal configuration, 41 psi cold and Dunlops on the rear at 24 psi. This trike handles like a sports car and easily keeps up with the Harley two wheelers in our mountain twisties here in the Prescott AZ area, lots of switch backs. Our riding group, is made up of two trikes and eight two wheelers who likes to "blast" though the corners and my wife loves it!

If I'm not mistaken, most of the popular kits when installed properly could boast of the same kind of performance.

to the OP, I believe it may be that your not accustomed to a trike and over steering.
2 in a roll with the same thing???
I ride the curves a lot and I usually ride one handed and never had a problem. If both hands on the bars I'm fixing to roll.
