Is converting from a shaft drive to belt drive difficult or expensive?

A lot of the bikes i like for conversion are shaft drive, but the conversion kits I favor are belt or chain drive.

Any ideas?

I don't believe it can be done . . in my mind i don't see how , Shaft drive turns E and West and chain N and south . you would need some sort of a jack shaft and that would hurt the HP to the rear wheels. what Co. makes a shaft or chain only???

Yes & no. Here at Trinity we are working on a somewhat related conversion of the 1100cc (and under) shaft drives. No jack shaft per se, but we're not tapping the shaft drive roation directly anyway.

I'm leaning towards a 1983 SilverWing Interstate as my test prototype or perhaps a Pacific Coast. Perhaps by the fall...we'll see. Stay Tuned.
