Scratches

It depends on how deep they are. If they go thru the protective coat then no they are not coming out. If they are only surface scratches then Meguires # 17 Mirror Glaze clear plastic cleaner is very good and then follow up with a coat of Meguires Mirror Glaze #10 clear plastic polish.

i have never had any luck removing scratches on the windshield so i now just purchase replacement ones found on e-bay for $36.00. they are just as good as far as i am concerned as original ones from Harley and i just change them out every two years.

Or you could buy a one time replacement by F4 and never need to buy another windshield!
For the OP, if you can feel the scratches with a finger nail the likely hood of polishing them out is pretty slim!

Novus has (3) different polishes, fine - medium - course, they do work depending on the construction of your windshield. If it is a coated windshield that finish will not rub out, but those scratches are generally in the coating a low speed buffer with med. to course polish will remove that coating. Then once the coating is gone its a plexiglass windshield and go from medium to fine to improve finish. If its an F4 they have their own products as do others. If you've ever done a refinish on plastic headlight lenses its the same process.... but with a finer product.

Once I changed to F4 windshields the scratches are now no longer a problem, you'll notice I now have a windshield wiper the same as F4 uses on their display model F4... not a scratch yet!! Just FYI

Yes they are expensive, but I like to ride not polish!!

I am sold on Slipstream Windshields. They are made of a far superior product and do not scratch that easy. I use regular furniture polish on mine and only use Bed Bath and Beyond's Perfect Glass on the windshield to clean it.

Question for you folks that use these 400 dollar windshields,,, are they really that good and do they hold up well?

Going on (7) Years for my F4+4 and it has had punishment. Recently applied some more punishment and its working very well.... as I was told it should per F4 owner!!
