Name
Lesley (Nana)
(NOTE: Breakfast is USUALLY just me with cold cereal and coffee, but with house guests here, I did more of a family meal today.)

Breakfast this morning at the Harrison household......

NANA'S FRENCH TOAST CASSEROLE

1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 tbsp corn syrup
12-14 slices bread (I like using Challah bread for the firm texture & slightly sweet taste)
5 eggs
1 1/2 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp salt
cinnamon

1. Combine butter, brown sugar, corn syrup
2. Pour 1/3 into bottom of 9x13 casserole
3. Layer bread - syrup - bread - syrup
4. Beat eggs, milk,vanilla, salt
5. Pour over bread
6. Bake covered @ 350 for 40-45 min, then about 10 more minutes uncovered
7. Serve with bacon and fresh fruit

This also does well if put together the night before, refrigerated, and baked in the morning, which is great for the not-so-early-risers ;).

Only kidding.

Great meal though.
