Our roads in the UK are pretty mucky in the winter, and the front of the rear fender, bodywork and rear seat were getting covered in mud, very similar to the problems Wingfoot was having with the groove between fender and body work filling up with grit,
It's my opinion, after careful observation that it's been thrown up by the front inner portion of the rear wheel,

Soooo I set about making an alloy mudflap , dimension of material 17 x 5 1/4 x 1/6 sheet,

I bought a set of TG mud flaps and marked around them, then cut the sheet to shape,
Fitted a set of std mud flaps to original HD instructions,

Formed the alloy sheet to fit around the inside of the fender, painted and fitted,

I'm very pleased with the result, you don't really see the alloy part, just the std mudflap,

I suppose I could have made it out of rigid plastic sheet, but I had the alloy to hand , shame to waste it ;)
