What saddle is good for a 12 hour ride. Just got back from Colorado and butt was sore... I have a Mustang seat on the Fat Man now but I think I need a change...............

You could have a gel insert put in at your local upholsterer! Or get one of those strap on gel pads for the iron but rides, and pull it for short trips. Or you could spend 600 bucks for a fancy new seat- and you still might get a sore ass. Just be thankful you dint get a case of monkey butt-it still could set in!:D

Earlier this year I put the Ultimate King seats on my Valk. Absolutely love it. I bought just the seats at first, but at Inzane I had Des install the backrests also. Did a couple of 500+ mile days on my 10 day vacation, hardly any butt burn.

I tried the Ultimate Big Boy first, but it was too low, too far forward for me. The King raises you an inch, and back 2 inches. Helps with the legs (& Paunch)

ETA: On those 105+ days riding in Ok, I did use an Alaskan sheepskin to keep from sweating so much.

I had Ultimates on my previous 97 Valkyrie trike. They were very comfortable and supportive. I had no complaints at all!

That being said, this time around I'm planning on getting a set of Russell Day-Long seats. They really are custom made for the individual rider. Check out their website and especially the ordering form to see what I mean regarding; 'custom made for you'. I've already called them and they clearly make an effort to answer all of your questions in detail. Hopefully, I'll order a set just before Christmas, lol. ThumbUp

Seven years ago I had a bike with a super-uncomfortable seat but wasn't about to spend maybe $1,000 for a custom-made job. Instead, I bought a Ortho-Deluxe Gel Pad with a sheepskin cover. I then found that I could ride until the tank ran dry instead of getting off every 50 miles! Now, 7 years later, I still have that same pad on on 2006 GL1800 Roadsmith Trike and recentlyd returned from a two-week trip which averaged 378 miles per day through western states without the slightest bit of discomfort in the nether regions. The gel makes for a sensationally comfortable ride and the sheepskin keeps you dry and cool in the summer and dry and warm in the winter. The absolute best $150 (if I remember correctly) I ever spent.

Just curious how they chart your anatomy, for the exact shape and dynamics to customise the seat. Maybe you will have to send a pic of your ass, or an old pair of underwear! They have to have sumpin to figure this out.:D

LMAO!!

I have no idea. All I can say at this point is that so far, I've never read a thread or heard of anyone not being completely satisfied with the Russell seats. Time will tell. ;)

get the air hawk. I tryed everyting from custom made seats to gel pads and everyting in between. But the only thing that worked for me was the air hawk.It will be the best 150.00 dollars you ever spent.

Thanks, Huntermangofast, the wife has an Air Hawk on the pillon and she loves it. So mine is ordered..........waiting now.........
