And I used to swear by PB Blaster...Gotta try this trick next time it can be tried, on things that might need it here in the shop.ThumbUp
"Posting of the day award" goes to Paul:clapping:
(sorry I don't have access to the blue ribbon, it so justly deserves!)
Being a former plumber, a old timer told me about the candle trick we used on tankless heater nuts, as they would snap off a lot. However the stud and nut must be the same temp, preferably room temp if possible. And yes, I was impressed as to no more stud breakage :clapping:
At the moment i don't have any rusted/frozen nuts ' But i might have to go out and over tighten something on purpose just to give the candle thing a try...
Anyway looks like i'll be adding a candle to my already over stuffed tool box...
Tried this out today, had a trailer hitch ball I could not remove - hit the bolt with a shot of mapp gas for a minute or so, put the candle on the threads the wax sucked its way up the threads and the nut came right off with hardley any effort ThumbUpThumbUpThumbUp
Now this looks like somethin fun to try. And to think of all the rusty stuff I've thrown away over the years, not one rusty nut around to try it on. Story of my life.
