Running boards (side board) for Lehman trike?

Does anyone know if you can get running boards (side boards) for Honda Valkyrie Lehman trike conversion? If so where would find it? Thank you all.

Hi Brian. Welcome to TrikeTalk!

We have a resident Lehman expert here on the forum whose screen name is Lee H. Mann.

He signs on every few days and catches up. His real name is Jim.

I bet it won’t be long before he sees your post. In the meantime perhaps someone else who can answer your question will chime in.

Brian, Welcome to Trike Talk from West Virginia.:wave4:

If you have a Lehman Predator or Dominator conversion, I might have a solution.

Lehman never specifically made a running-board kit for the Valkyrie (Interstate).

About 15 years ago I mocked up a set of Lehman Renegade HOG EFX boards onto a Valkyrie.

The rear pieces fit the fenders well because the body was basically dimensionally the same.

The front part took a little imagination but overall they worked and looked good.

I told Lehman about it at the time but they seemed disinterested.

So my idea remains on the shelf.

Welcome Brian to Trike Talk.

I have a 1999 Valkyrie Interstate with a Lehman Predator Kit. When Lehman produced trike kits for the Valkyrie they did not have kits with running boards. I have never seen a Valkyrie with running boards from any trike kit manufacturer. If you have any questions you are at the right place to get answers. Lots of knowledgeable people post here.

Post up some pictures, I would like to see your trike.

Greg

Now that it's been mentioned, I too do not recall seeing them on a Valkyrie trike at all. :xzqxz: I know the boards inhibit one's ability to reach the ground with feet from a rider's position which means one would have to get off to push unless rolling backwards on down grade … if no reverse?

And oh yeah … WELCOME!

Trying to foot pedal in reverse is very hard from the seat. I have a 30" inseam and moving a 1200 lb. trike backwards on flat ground is difficult. I always try to park so I can drift backwards or drive forward. I always do creative parking and the worst that can happen is you just grab the front forks and push, it won't fall over, just make sure you can stop a rolling 1200 lb. bike. I have seen pictures of trikes that got away and rolled over a hill, not pretty.:gah:
