We would like to be there but health issues won't allow it. I hope you don't have to spend all your riding time in the rain.

Wanted to go this year, but it's still just too hot to start out from Central Texas - hope that we can plan on next fall - have been to the Golden Aspen rally before but this year is the first time it's being held at the Inn of the Mountain Gods. That's a beautiful place and we look forward to being there next year!!

Which inn? Used to stay at the Swiss Chalet - good restaurant there, too, but most recently have rented a house. Check weather reports before you leave - roads may need chains in December. If you mean the Inn of the Mountain Gods, you'll definitely need to have chains, at least in the trunk. Narrow, winding roads between Ruidoso & the Inn. Would NOT suggest you take the trike up there in December unless you don't value either your trike or your life.

I have attended the last four rallies in Ruidoso and stayed at various places. This past September was the first rally to be held at the IMG. The spring rally will still be in the city at the Civic Center and the September rally ay IMG. I did not find the roads at all narrow nor will you need chains in September. Great rally with indoor vendors, rides, prizes and fun. The IMG worked out great with indoor parking for bikes. I will be there for both in 2012. It is a nice ride from Denver and worth the ride.
