Rivco Driving Lights Out

I bought the Rivco Driving Halogen 2" 55 watt lights from Wingstuff and installed them 5/13/11 on my GL1800 trike. On 10/7/11 took the trike to installer to reseat steering bearings and fix trunk leak. Got home and all seemed fine until I went to switch on the Rivco lights and switch was missing. I had mounted it with the tape provided near the front headphone connectors. I removed the left fairing compartment and found the switch just hanging out. I brought it back to the mounting location and tested them and all was good. Last night I needed to use them and of course I got nothing. All the wires and connections seem fine. When I opened the clip on wire connectors and removed the switch wire and turn on the switch I hear a clicking sound when I touch the wire to the Goldwing wire. What is happening and how do I fix it? Is a bulb blown? Thanks for all suggestions.
 
I mentioned it to my mechanic, RnR Cycles in Sterling VA, when I was getting a new front tire. He found that I had poor grounding where the lights attached to the mirrors. I ran a ground from there to a grounded wire and it fixed the problem. The grounding screw that the Rivco instructions say to use does not seem to be fully grounded until I ran the extra wire to a definite grounded wire.
