Has anyone installed the Rivco Products Adjustable Billet Armrests on their Tri Glide (#HD094)? My better half has asked me to install armrests for an upcoming roadtrip. Read quite a few negative comments on the Kuryakyn armrests and the HD armrests won't fit on the Tri Glide.

Alphonso: While I can't comment on Rivco's armrest, I can say that Rivco products are excellent. We had their adjustable foot rest and the product was amazing. So I would not hesitate on the armrest and they look superior to Kury's.

I just ordered the Rivco's. I'll give you my feedback once installed. Heading on a weekend trip so hopefully they will be here before this Friday.

The Rivco Armrests showed up today. The tension system on the hindge is a friction pinch system. No interior nylon or BB ball system, although the pinch shaft has a rounded end which could accept a steel ball if a small enough one could be found. I'll see if I can find one, install it and then see what effect that has on the tension system. Other than that they look real nice; the Mounting Bracket is 1/8" thick and the chrome armrest itself is 1/2" thick. The armrest hindge mounts to the tourpak bracket using 2 screws. There are 4 mounting holes on the tourpak bracket allowing you to raise the level up about 1" in needed. The armrest pad can also be rotated 180* which would extend it forward about 1" or so too. Overall the armrest is pretty heavy so I'm definitely looking to put some steel support brackets inside the tourpak to support the armrest bracket. I should be able to install the armrests tonight and then I'll post up some pics.

Update on the Rivco Armrest Hinge Pinchbolt System. It sucks. They use a Allen head 3/8" set screw and it is soft. I ended up removing it, tightened up the pinchbolt and then screw in a stainless steel hex head 3/8" bolt with a nut and washer to lockdown the internal pinchbolt. Now I was able to keep the Armrests from swinging out going around turns.

Outside of the pinchbolt system the rest of the product was pretty good. You are better off having two people to install the brackets, especially the left one which is on the hinge side of the tourpack.
