Riding Discomfort

After my first Summer riding my trike, I find that after a half hour of riding, I get a pain in my face that lasts until I get home. I think it has to do with the silly grin that's on my face all the while I'm riding. I can't believe how much fun I have while riding my trike! My Goldwing was great when it was on two wheels, but now it's awesome on three!! Does this facial pain go away after while or does it last indefinitely? Best move I ever made with a motorcycle!!!

I must confess to feeling the pain described by Bubbleswing as well! I hope it never goes away!

I know what you mean. It's almost like cheating, getting to ride a motorcycle without the worry of doing a low side in the corners due to sand, gravel, etc. Bring on the tight u-turns and gravel parking lots. I've never heard of a trike tipping over while parked in grass or soft dirt. Most hesitate to switch because they will miss the leaning into curves, but riding a trike is a whole new experience and just as much fun, like a sports car.

Just move into the Houston area. 3 hour ride to the nearest curve. Reason I gave up two wheels to begin with. But, now, after two years with the trike, curves are just as fun as with two wheels, and the straight roads are the same. Love it.

Could the face pain be due to your helmet? If it is new, it will break in and the cushions will feel more comfortable. If it is not new, you may be able to buy cushions for the next size up. Try a larger helmet at a local dealer.

I couldn't agree more! The trike is like a sports car. A convertible personified, lol. :laugh:

As for the curves; Between pushing your weight on the opposite foot and leaning into the turn (and if you also happen to have an 'Air-Hawk-R' cushion in which you can feel your butt displacing the air as you lean), you can get the same or similar thrill taking those turns!
