I don't like to post accident stories, But maybe this might help some one. Friday after noon i was going west on Rt 6 in Pa, A few miles west of Milford Pa. And there was a biker down in the middle of the road. I did stop to offer help but the Volunteers fire and medical were on the Scene and rushed/waved me on.., And they had it under control .The rider was hurt and an ambulance was on the way..

The Crash happened When the Fork separated from the bike...The wheel and bars were laying two feet from the rest of the bike as a unit....With out much damage to the rest of the bike.. I guess the the nut on the streeing head broke of or was lose and spun off.. Some times that nut is over looked...Like i said i was rushed out of there .. But that's what it looked like too me.....

I have never seen a triple tree nut come off while moving. Unless someone had modified it with a non-locking nut, i don't see how it could happen... Maybe a home modified bike?

Well if the bars were still on the front end then I would guess the steering head broke off. A common problem on one of those custom frames, don't remember which one though.
