No need to remove the weights, not even when putting on new tires. However, if you want them off, dental floss! Clean up with a dab of adhesive remover

you can take them off anytime you want. active balancing means it evens balances the tire and wheel as the tire wears. cooling running and longer tire life along with pucture sealing.I know you can do it either way, what I've never been clear on is if you forget to take them off can you later? Or is it one way or the other?:Shrug:
