Replacing shifter knob on motortrike reverse

I am looking to replace the shifter knob on a "MotorTrike" reverse kit. Is the shifter knob screw onto the shaft or glue onto the shifter shaft. I heard that the "Champion" reverse shifter knobs are glue on. If it can be change, what is the thread size?

well here is what I did with my Champion knob. I cut it off and threaded the shifter shaft with what ever knob I planned on putting on the shaft.

Don't recall the size but if I recall it may have been 1/2-20. It all depended on what came with the shift knob. Or I have seen some that use set screws and you will not need to worry about using a Die to cut the threads.
