I'm having my RSV converted over the winter and I contacted the DMV in NH to find out what I needed to do to reg it as a trike. (my reg is due in Nov). They said I would need to take it to a "salvage inspection station" prior to registering it as a trike.
Does that sound correct? Anyone had their bike converted in NH? How/what did you need to do for registration? How much did your "fees" go up?
Now I need to contact my insurance company and get the skinny on that..

No need to register as a trike, or tell them what you are doing. All they care about is the original bike, like mine is registered as a 2002 GL 1800 Goldwing.
Now insurance is another point.

As for most major insurance compaines, a conversion is considered an accessory!
Went through a lengthy discussion w/my agent and a conference call w/the company.
Was told to take pictures and save all receipts. There was no increaase in my rates:Shrug:

That's the same as Virginia. Mine is registered as a regular motorcycle. How-ever my insurance policy has it listed as a trike for it's increased value.

Same in NJ... Told our insurance company, and they charged us more initially, but rate went down every year. Recently changed to Rider Insurance, and rate is very reasonable.

Same for Florida. DMV registered my Suzuki, BMW and Goldwing trikes as motorcycles. Insurance company wanted a couple of pictures and added trike conversion as "accessory add on equipment). Insurance cost went up only $30 or so.

About the same here in Ohio. My vehicle is titled as a 2012 Honda MC.. Progressive insures it as a MC with $15,000 worth of accessories.

Add me to the list of those with a kit being rated as an 'accessory'.

We also initially called the DMV and were told we would have to take it to the Inspection station and have my Royal Star Venture Title Shredded and be given a NEW Title as a Custom Trike!! - I was having none of this and called a Trike dealer in Nebraska to ask him. He told me that the person I spoke with at the DMV was nuts. He said that my title does not change and my Trike Kit is an accessory. Progressive Insurance agrees.
