Realistic prices

I'm thinking about picking up an FLHXXX. Since they have been discontinued, I thought the dealers might be offering decent prices to get rid of them. Local dealers still seem to be oblivious to the fact that there is a recession. One local wants full sticker plus $5,000.00 plus their normal "assembly" fee of several hundred dollars. Others are at sticker and the assembly fee varies quite a bit. What should I expect an 2011 Street Glide Trike to be going for? Full price? Discounted?

Welcome aboard. If they feel they can get then they are going to ask that much. It's your job to find a better deal or talk them down. Shop around you'll find what you want at the price you want to pay unless your being un-realistic. Good luck

Hey Pettifogger
I paid retail two weeks ago but got a $2000 certificate for HD goodies which
I would have ordered anyway. I was concerned the dealer would not be getting any more Street Glides so I jumped on one.

Good Hunting!

Our dealers locally do not sell above MSRP. I don't think they sell below MSRP either, but do things like Dante's deal instead. Definitely do not pay higher than MSRP for it! Try contacting Chillicothe HD in Chillicothe, Ohio. I understand from a local friend over there that they do a lot of deals on the internet, and that they are good to work with. Can you say..... Road Trip? ;)

After test riding a Tri-Glide at an out of state dealer, I went to talk to my local one. He REALLY wanted me to order it there. Gave me list, plus extra's (luggage rack, full cover, etc.) and I get into his dealerships points program for free (every dollar spent earns points to use for anything in dealership). Plus since he has known me for 20 years, it get's warranty stuff done pretty fast. By the way, they found the model, color and year for me in another state and traded with that dealer for it. Had it to me the next weekend. I think there was a point to all this, but I have derailed my train of thought.

If local dealers WILL WORK WITH YOU then by all means buy local, but I know this is not always practical. Buy where your deal is the best AND you are close enough for warranty work. When dealers are loyal to their customers THEN customers will support the dealer, NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND.

That's for the input. MSRP plus a decent gift certificate for accessories sounds like a good deal. One dealer quoted me a what I thought was a fair price on a deal to trade in my 09 FLHT. Today the price mysteriously went up by $3,900.00. I'll try some more this week. Fortunately there are several dealers in the Phoenix area. Unfortunately most want to talk MSRP plus. Otherwise I'll check the internet or a kit.

I think the delear sale prices are affected by the local economy and demand. Here in NH I got 18,500 for my 09 Ultra and they dropped 1000 off their asking price for a TriGlide. Work your best deal!
