I've been looking for a small motorhome and have run into no less than three scams using these very same words in their Craigslist ads. In every case the ad is being placed by someone else, usually for a friend who is moving and needs to make a quick sale.

My research reveals this is a common scam tactic on Craigslist nationwide and has snared many trusting people into sending deposits or payments, only to never to hear from them again.

I agree, If it sounds to good to be true.....normally it isn't true. so make sure when dealing with people over the internet you really know what you are going to get. In my experience if the seller will take PAYPAL it will be OK and it takes alot of the worry away from buying.

I believe it is just a misprint because the advertised HP was 155.

I experienced a few unscrupulous fellows when looking also. I found several bikes and when you tell them you have a friend or relative close by that you want to look at the bike they start making up reasons that they can't see the bike. Find someone close by to go look at it and if there is no problem then you might cautiously proceed. If it is a scam you will not be able to see the bike or suddenly they sold it or you will never hear from them again. I have learned that I only deal in cash and in person. Like said, "If it sounds too good to be true, then you better look out".
