Does anyone have any info that can help me in deciding which rake kit I should go with for my new mod of a MotorTrike Kit for my bike? I am waiting to hear back from Bazooka on a Rake Kit I ordered from him on Aug. 28th - 6 degrees.

My husband talked to someone and thinks I should go with an 8 degree rake kit with 2 inch risers??

Not sure what way to go.. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Kandie

Did they say WHY 8* is better than 6*? Just curious. My 2007 MotorTrike 1300R has a 6* rake kit with 2" risers from Zook, and I am very happy with it, but it's the only one I've tried. If you would like more info or have other questions about your new Trike, feel free to PM me with your number. Happy to call you.

I'm no authority on the rakes but 8 degrees seems too extreme! Usually from what I've learned, the length of the trike kit should be considered when choosing the degree of the rake. You'll see many who have MotorTrikes with a 4.5 rake. I have a Roadsmith which has a longer wheel base and they suggest a 5.5 or 6 degree rake. I have a 6 degree rake on mine. Roadsmith mentioned that anything over a 6.5 they would not suggest as it would make steering at a higher rate of speed very sensitive. I agree.

Hopefully others who are more knowledgeable will chime in as well.

IMO 8 degrees is WAY to much rake.It would be real sensitive.Have you sent Zook a PM or phone call? Good luck.RIDE SAFE

Yes, I have talked to Kandie....I have taken the VTX trees off my order site due to S-L-O-W shipping from my supplier. I get super good service from my Goldwing and Harley supplier, but very slow from my VTX supplier. I still reccomend the 6 degree trees...have sold a pile of them.

I just want to put this out there - no one should have any concerns about buying from Bazooka. He's as honest as the day is long. I dealt with him for rake kits for both my VTX 1300 and 1800, and it's true - his suppliers are the ones who hold up the deal. As soon as he gets them they go in the mail! Sorry to see VTX riders lose him as a resource.

I totally agree with you. I spoke to Bazooka both today and yesterday on the phone and it's his supplier that is holding things up, but he is working on a solution for me.
