Questions about TG

I mounted my 665 on the dash with the harley dash mount kit..Works great..only thing is you have to drill a few holes in the inner fairing..

The Big Blue Pearle and Black bike on the floor at the dealer already has it mounted on the dash. Due to the reverse, there is no room to use the mount that looks like an arm. There is no room for a Satellite radio and a phone for GPS, even though its alot of money, its all in one unit out of the way on the dash.

My guess would be at least 3 hours.... Inner and outer faring and radio remove, change clutch cable (maybe) extend throttle wires, change front break line (maybe) After all of that, change bars and put it back together again. I changed the bars on my E-Glide, not really difficult if you take your time AND HAVE THE MANUAL.

I think the local dealer quoted me $800 parts and labor using Cycle Shack 10" bars. Just not sure if I want to go through that again, we have over $1000 in 'chrome dollars' from using the Harley Credit Card and I don't recall there being that much of an advantage or comfort in raising the bars on the E-Glide.

Good Luck.

New qestion...anyone have a satellite radio mounted on their handlebars. I know that none of the Sirius radios are water/resistant/proof, how did you wire it in and what do you use to protect the radio in rain or damp conditions. Also do any of you use your phone for GPS? Any pics of the satellite mounted?

I mounted my first Garmin to the CB mic bracket and purchased the mount that worked with that GPs and plugged it into my Cigarette lighter on the fairing..

No phone while driving on my bike..I dont care if the president is calling while I am out on the rode..Thats my time to clear my mind>>

A picture is worth a thousand words. This ISN'T my trike, but my E-Glide that was traded for the first trike. All the 'stuff' was taken off and put on the trike. First is the Kuriatkyn ( or however you spell it) replacement gas cap. It comes with a mount attached. Instead of bolting my GPS to the mount, I covered the mount with the soft 1/2 of a VELCRO sheet, and put the other part on my GPS, MP3, Telephone, or whatever I wanted to stick on there. Ran a cord under the dash plate and up to the radio, so anything I play goes into the radio. Seemed like such a good idea I covered the whole dash plate with Velcro. In this picture is my XM satellite radio, again plugged into the radio on the bike. About weather proofing..... with the Velcro if it starts to rain, I take it off and put it in a saddle bag. Ditto when parking, out sight, out of mind. I use the Gas cap mount because I can add a 5" screen GPS and see it very easily, besides, car type units are CONSIDERABLY cheaper than bike units.

Trikermutha, that's how much I pay a month for my cell phone. It's the cheapest I can find.

I think I will buy a LePan 9" tablet and not have to pay for the weather radar. The added benifit is being able to check my e-mails and other web sites. Plus it's got a 9" GPS screen - even though I don't need that but google maps looks great.:D

Before I went to a Garmin Zumo 550 with XM radio I used to put my Delphi Roady in the 3 pocket windshield pouch with the power lead coming out and plugging into the cigarette lighter and the audio cable plugged into the aux port. The antenna was slipped between the pouches so the magnet could stick to the metal. When it rained I would just unhook it and put it away.
