Were all Harley sidecars installed at the factory or dealer?

If anyone has one I need to know how wide an Ultra with the OE sidecar at its widest point. Been shopping for one and need to know if it will fit in my trailer.

Are there any sites that have a good history about HD sidecars.

Thanks

HD Sidecars

Joe, Harley sidecars were made in a different factory, Tomahawk, WI than the bikes which are made in York, PA. The dealer would place the order, and when both pieces arrived they would do the installation.

The width from outer fairing front left to sidecar axel nut cover = 76.250 (widest point). An enclosed trailer under 8" wide, you will probably have a problem with the inner wheel well right side of trailer. The rig is wide!

Again, hope this helps!

Thanks, that's exactly what I needed.
