Question about Steep Inclines

Hope this isn't a dumb question. I'm new to trike riding and just bought a Triglide - and liking it alot! Most of my questions can be answered by reading the posts here but I was wondering - how does the Triglide - or any trike for that matter - handle going up steep inclines such as a steep driveway or hill? Is there a danger or feeling of tipping backwards especially with a passenger?

No danger of tipping over. The biggest risk is of your pipes scraping at start. There is a lift kit brackets available from tglidestuff.com . They advertise off to the right. Judging by what I have read here, 100% people are happy with them. I have the lifts and it makes a big difference.

It is HIGHLY unlikely you will 'wheelie' a stock trike, passanger or not.

I think a lot of people when thinking conventional Trikes, Remember the ATC's of years past [I had 3] The street Trikes don't have that problem they're an entirely different animal and won't wheelie..

I think the most important thing when driving a Tri is you the driver can't think that you just sit there behind the handlebars and don't move your body. On the contrary, you have to shift your weight in the saddle towards the turn. You need to turn your upper body slightly towards the turn and you need to either use your feet or the inside of you thigh pressed against the tank in the direction you are turning.

As pervious 2 wheelers we all got pretty complacent. We just sat there and counter steered. We got more to do driving a trike but frankly I thinks its a lot more fun. For us vertically challenged there no stress anymore about putting your feet down, gravel, substantially cantered highway at stop sign/lights.

Also remember to do this for both going up or down a steep incline or crossing a dip in the road you know is there >> when you come to the bottom of the incline or dip in the road, cross it at a angle. This will prevent you from dragging your mufflers

Only "danger" is bottoming out your sump or pipe going over the top of the incline!
