Progressive shocks

I think someone here did it with the shocks where mounted upside down for access to the preload adj. I don't know it he had a lift kit.

That would be me Fuzzy!! I have both the lift kit and the Progressive 444's (installed upside down for ease of adjustment)!!:pepper:

I weigh about 165 lbs and the wife weighs about 128 lbs and I set the shocks with 3 turns for pre-load and like the way it rides. I recently had to have the belt replaced (full body off!!!) so I added another 1/2 turn anticipating extra luggage load (trip we did not ultimately take) and am going to return to my original 3 turns as the 1/2 turn, given our combined weight, is a little firmer than I like. Intend to change back some time this week!!

I read your experiences with great interest. The tri is the first air shock Harley I've ever had that actually held air ... LOL ... I have the comfort lift and run 36# front 26# rear and 30# in the shocks ... the ride is great. If I go in any direction, I might do the Mac Air from DK. But for now I'm pretty happy.

Were your progressive 444 shocks 13 1/2 inches long?

No, the ones I installed were prior to Progressive even offering a rear shock for the TriGlide!! Mine were the 13" version (OEM length) and I installed them upside down. Since the time I installed mine, progressive has come out with the TriGlide specific 444's at 13 1/2". Since I have the lift kit installed as well, I probably have the same performance criteria as Progressive is touting for their 13 1/2" version!!

However, if I was purchasing for the first time, I would go with the 13 1/2" version, but I do not intend to change!!
