Primary chain lube

Tested-Certified" Harley-Davidson Heavy Synthetic Gear Oil for transmission and primary chaincase applications.

Saw this posted on another site 80W-140 is now being put in primary. What are your thoughts on redline shockproof 58204? I have it transmission. Would it be too slippery on clutches?

Shockproof is meant to cling to bearings and other metal parts in a tranny

That said this is a good thing there, however a HD wet clutch really only needs lube to cool the clutch plates, not coat them ( too much and too sticky could cause bad Ju JU with the clutch plates)

I will wait for more testing before I put any thing this heavy in my primary JMO

Engine = Amsoil 20/50 or equivalent

Trans = Amsoil 75/90 Severe Gear or equivalent (Red Line)

Primary = H-D Formula+

Can't go wrong with any of the above.

I really like the Red Line products, been using their Primary stuff since the 1st 1,000 mile checkup.

They are selling that new stuff for twice the price of Formula + & for more than Redline in most places.

I know 1 thing, a lot of products are fine, but I have not seen anything better in the tranny than the Red line Shockproof
