Post Crackup Ride impressions.... back in the saddle limited basis. freewheeler FLRT.

Still need handlebars, and a comfort lift to help with ouchy back. (Someday) $$$ Ouch.

Otherwise. After 5 months off the trike , with a simple properly done stage 1 this trike has more power than Im ever going to need. Really forgot how good it runs that way.
Only thing I might ever want more power for is going around semi's at freeway speed . I went the speed limit in the twisties today and it did not even hurt one bit LOL.

I did notice that the body lean is a lot better in cold weather than hot. Body lean is barely noticeable in 45 degree weather. Makes me wish I could find some high performance shocks for these things so they would stay that way all the time.

Can barely walk with cane at this point. Can hardly even call it that. Sort of desperately staying vertical with a slow shuffle. I may have to have a torn tissue surgery on the left hip , somewhere in the near future. I need it now but the only place I can get it done is 400 miles away.

Having a cortisone/anti inflammatory injection up at the bone and joint, joint on friday. Trying to stay off the surgery table if I can.

But made it home safe from the HD shop where the trike had been sleeping for 5 months. 60 mile cold but good ride.

I use the trike for physical therapy. For back and leg exercise and the stretching of my muscles due to my C.P. Its not a dyna but it'll do. Its amazing how much riding one of these things can keep you out of a wheel chair just by keeping the muscles working . . And it does it gently. Can not say the same for my P.T. who should have a degree from marque' de sade.

Now to get through our MT. spring. Guaranteed to make you crazy with bad weather till May.

Rain , snow, sun, wind, rain , snow, sun , wind. And for the next twenty minutes......then repeat.

Only thing I do not like about the freewheeler : not having enough $ to make it unique enough not to look like every other freewheeler out there. I do think trikes all look a bit cookie cutter to me. Wish they made these with the denim black option. I think it would help with the way these things look. But then again Im just an old black out everything former chopper guy. If there IS such a thing as former chopper guy. Still love them , just don't ride them anymore.

I probably should just enjoy the ride and forget about that denim paint part.
(My family has practically gone bankrupt helping me stay riding) So yeah .. Im grateful to say the least.)

Fair winds, good sailing (but do stay on all three wheels otherwise it hurts a lot). See ya's.

Glad to hear you are back riding. PT is a pain (literally) but absolutely necessary so hang in there! A few years ago my wife broke her ankle and after surgery and healing she had to do PT. I had to leave the room....I thought they were going to break her ankle again doing the PT. Hang in there!

Thanks Kevin: Its on a limited basis for now. May try some MT to OR trips this summer but it will depend on how the back and leg are doing . Good to be back in the wind even part time. !!

Hey Rick! Great to hear you're back in the wind!

Thank you!! its been really slow. But I can ride , just have to build up to what used to be normal now. 60 miles is a good start.

Just hang in there it will all get better. It just will just take a little time..

Ride Safe,
Bill G
