Possible BMW GS Trike Build?

Hi Y'all. I ve been back to riding motorcycles since 2016, after a 40 year hiatus. I bought a 2002 BMW R1150 GS (ABS) as a real good deal last year, but I've had to lower it with HyperPro PR spring to get it so I can stand on my toes now, and I'm still uneasy on it, but I love the bike. I also have a survivor: '74 BMW r75/6, and an Chang Jiang M1S w Sidecar I'm restoring.. while I'm building a new timber-frame Studio Garage for my wife and I in the NC mountains. I'm 67 years young, 5'6" short inseam.. > I'm thinking of turning my BMW GS into a TRIKE built from the CASARVA UK "DIY Independent Rear Suspension BMW TRIKE KIT" with bits, using BMW car parts (some used, some new). A North Carolina installer has offered to do the work for a fair price as he has a GS too, so I'm leaning real hard to go ahead with the project this spring (..as I watch the snow melt.)

The project is unique, a semi-custom, as there are NONE for sale online.. Seems like there's a lot of older guys like me who just don't like falling over under a top heavy big bike.. Is it Safe?

> Any tips for the Build, Cost control ideas beyond Used BMW parts for the Differential, half shafts, Prop Shaft? I'm thinking new Wheel hubs, Alloy aftermarket Wheels, brakes, Master Cylinder, hoses, all the smaller bits..

Hi Gunnar, :welcome:to Trike Talk

Sounds like a solid plan. I would for sure think on the brake up grade. You are adding more weight to your build and want it to stop good

Hello and :welcome: to Trike Talk, glad to have U with Us. :clapping:

Good luck with the build.

Hello Gunnar, welcome to the forums. Sounds like a very interesting build, hope you pursue it.
