Hello,

I'm new here, currently ride a 2014 Heritage Softail. I've been riding for 35 years, but time is taking it's toll on my knees and I see a trike in my near future! I'm debating between a New Freewheeler or converting my Heritage with a Frankenstein kit, I hope this forum will help me with my decision.

welcome aboard Steve. Both choices are good ones. If you want to look at a new freewheeler see Tony at Treasure Cost HD West Palm Beach. Tell him Ted from Key Largo recommend you to talk to him. He will give you a deal that will not be beat.

Welcome to Trike Talk from Texas. I think you need a new Freewheeler. I thought about having my Road King converted but decided to get a new 2015 Freewheeler. It's my 5th Harley, first trike and I have truly been happy about my decision.

Post often so we can keep up with your progress.

Steve, Welcome to Trike Talk Forum.

Even though I have converted many Softails over the years, the FLH platform offers the rider and
PASSENGER more comfort.

The Frankenstein kit will save you money if there is limited funds to INVEST but you won't be as satisfied.

If you were talking about an FLH-FLT instead of a Softail, then I would definitely consider a FULL-BODIED trike conversion instead. JMTCW

Welcome. If you ride 2 up, & long trips,,,,go TriGlide. I was going to convert my 15 Ultra to Motor Trike conversion. #1 would void warranty, #2 Got a new 16 Tri w/ 7 yr extended warranty for same $$$.. Already over 20,000 miles in 18 months. We love the Tri

Thanks for the welcome and the info, tough to decide. I really like the Freewheeler, seems like a great place to start the 3 wheel adventure. I've ridden a Tri-glide with the new M-8 motor, very impressed with the performance. I can only guess a Freewheeler with the M-8 would be a real hot rod, maybe I should rent one for a weekend so the bride and I can really get a feel for it.

Welcome Steve! There are many questions and here on this forum, there will be many that will answer! A lot of knowledge here and many will take the time to discuss the questions you have. And OBTW, welcome from Western KY!

YES it is a hot rod

Dont rent one unless you buy one:pSeriously, I would indeed rent one for a day or two

IMO if you can do with out the radio and liquid cooling I would be all over that Freewheeler

I am on my second one

This one now the M8 is a keeper

Welcome to the group good people here willing to help, stop by often travel safe. :good: fred

Hello and welcome to the forum.

I agree that renting the Freewheeler for a couple of days would be an excellent idea.

Hey Steve

Welcome to,the community. You can get alot of help and answers on this site, had both Honda Goldwing trike with CSC and Harley trike ultra classic with motor trike conversion. Both excellent trikes?
